As a declared undergraduate student in the College of Science and Engineering, you will have an assigned professional or faculty academic advisor. We value academic advising as a shared responsibility and encourage you to connect with your academic advisor. Advising serves to develop and enrich your educational plans in ways that are consistent with your personal values, goals, and career paths, preparing you for a lifetime of learning in a global society. You can find the name of your assigned advisor on your Degree Works audit and in Starfish.

Spring 2027 Course Registration Dates

Thursday, September 3: Time Tickets Available

Your time ticket is the day and time you can begin to register for Spring 2027 classes.

How to Check Time Tickets

1. You can check your time ticket by logging into mySeaport.
2. Click "Registration"
3. Click “Register for Classes”
4. Click “Prepare for Registration”

You may not register before your assigned time.
You may register/add/drop any time after your assigned time ticket.

 
Thursday, November 5: Graduate Student Registration Opens
Friday, November 6: Priority Registration and Seniors with 120+ Credits Course Registration Opens
November 9-17: Remaining Student Classifications Course Registration Opens


CSE Canvas Undergraduate Advising Courses

If you have declared your “pre” or full major, you will be automatically enrolled in your departmental Canvas course. These Canvas modules contain important information about your program of study and courses required to complete your degree.

Course Registration PIN Retrieval

You must review the information in your Canvas course and complete the attestation to receive your course registration PIN. You can access the Spring 2027 PIN release quiz in your Canvas course from October 12, 2026 at 12 p.m. through December 14, 2026 at 12 p.m. You will receive your PIN in the Canvas quiz feedback within approximately 3 business days. Once you have received your PIN and your time ticket has opened, you will be able to register for courses. If you do not request your course registration PIN during the available timeframe, you must contact your advisor or the CSE Academic Resource Center (csearc@uncw.edu).

Degree Works is a web-based degree audit tool to help monitor progress towards degree completion. You should use this tool to plan for course registration and review your graduation requirements. The Undergraduate Catalogue is published online each academic year to include important information for students. Some of the information included is the requirements of all the majors, minors and certificate programs offered at the University, University Regulations, and the University Calendar. 

Archived catalogues can be accessed by selecting this option from the menu on the left hand side.  

Student's Catalogue Year: 

A student’s catalogue year is determined by their first term of enrollment at the university. A student will follow the requirements of University Studies, their major(s), and possible minor(s) or certificate program(s) that are stated in that catalogue. If a student changes their major or minor, they will still stay in the same catalogue and follow the requirements of the new major or minor listed there.

There are times when a student’s catalogue year needs change and if so, they must follow the requirements of University Studies and their chosen degree program as stated in the new catalogue. 

• If a student wishes to pursue a new major, a new concentration within their current major, or a minor or certificate that does not exist under their current catalogue year, they must change to a newer catalogue year that includes the new program of study.
• If a student leaves the university and re-enrolls, they can choose to come back under their current catalogue or a previous catalogue from a year in which they earned credit, as long as they can graduate within 6 years of that catalogue. Students should discuss the various options with their academic advisor.

University Regulations are Based on Current Catalogue: 

While a student follows the academic requirements of their catalogue year, all students are held to the University Regulations of the current academic year and catalogue.
