Campus Recreation at UNCW takes a “Something for Everyone” approach to programming.

Marketing Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of all marketing/promotional materials for the department and is responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining the department's website and all web-based projects and manages department presentations for university related events. This position also leads the marketing student work team who manage a variety of graphic design and photography projects for the department.

Tammi is responsible for the business needs of the department. Her primary responsibilities include processing requisitions, purchase orders and invoices in uShop, journal entries and budget revisions, Emburse Enterprises reconciliations including check requests, invoices and travel processing.

She is also a certified senior mediator through the North Carolina Office of State Human Resources.

Susan is responsible for the management of all membership services for the LSRC, daily office operations and payroll for the department. She manages all administrative aspects of a multi-faceted office that includes supervision and development of student office staff as well as the management and development of all of our member services staff. Susan also oversees the Kudos program which is our student recognition incentive program.

Marshall is responsible for the overall administration of Seahawk Adventures Programs, including the Challenge Course, Climbing Wall, the Rental & Resource Center, and Trips & Clinics.  He directly manages the operation of the climbing wall and equipment rentals. He also oversees the planning, assessment, risk management, leadership, and facilitation of Seahawk Adventures.

Thomas oversees the planning and logistics of the Trips and Clinics Program. His responsibilities include developing and scheduling a variety of regional outdoor experiences, as well as coordinating clinic offerings throughout the academic year. In addition, he supports the professional development of student staff within Seahawk Adventures.

Ashton provides leadership to the personal training program to include teaching a nationally accredited certification preparation course, mentoring, and developing new and experienced fitness professionals, developing, and managing fitness and body analysis assessments. Additionally, he leads the fitness center student work team who manage the daily operation of more than 26,000 square-feet of fitness center spaces including the appearance and condition of fitness centers, fitness equipment, fitness studios, and related support areas.

Mackenzie Burke, Fitness Coordinator - Group Fitness

Mackenzie provides leadership and direction to the group fitness program, special events, and small group training for the UNCW campus community. She is charged with identifying innovate methods to bring new and retain movement experiences to students, staff, faculty, and members via the Group Fitness Loyalty Program and Custom Group Fitness classes. Additionally, this position applies excellent customer service and industry best practices to manage day-to-day operations that include mentoring, supervising, and scheduling classes and instructors, managing fitness studios, equipment inventory control, and maintenance.

Breanna is responsible for advising the Sports Club Council, Sport Club Officer development and mentoring assigned sport clubs. She manages and develops Program Assistants and students working as office assistants and maintenance staff. Additional responsibilities include co-leading the development and support of the Competitive Sports Graduate Assistant, supporting our Sports Official's Development Program, managing the payroll of student team members, assisting with outdoor recreational facility maintenance and special event programming.

Devin is responsible for the overall planning, operation, maintenance, assessment and risk management of facility operations, informal recreation programming, and aquatics programming for the Pat Leonard Student Recreation Center (LSRC). He provides input, direct support, and coordination related to all facility projects and enhancements; directly supervises a Facility Coordinator, Aquatics Coordinator, and overseees the student development experience for the Department of Campus Recreation.

Samantha reports to the Assistant Director of Facility Operations and Student Development and assists in the oversight, assessment, and coordination of the informal recreation experience taking place in the Pat Leonard Student Recreation Center (LSRC). She is responsible for ensuring the student staff are supported while they maintain operational processes; providing customer service and maintaining a welcoming environment for patrons; and enforcing departmental guidelines.

DJ is responsible for the operation and administration of a multifaceted aquatics program, including the development and supervision of aquatics student team members, daily operations, preventative maintenance, and risk management for both the indoor and outdoor pools. DJ also oversees the development, coordination, and implementation of aquatic and classroom-based instructional programming, including swim lessons and health and safety certification courses.
