Important Dates & Deadlines

Friday, Sept. 4: Absentee ballots available
Sunday, Oct. 4: Residency deadline
Friday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m.: Voter registration deadline*
Thursday, Oct. 15: In-person early voting begins
Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.: Absentee ballot request deadline*
Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m.: In-person early voting ends
Tuesday, Nov. 3: Election Day**
Friday, Nov. 13: County canvass of election results

*Voter registration and absentee voting deadlines are different for military and overseas citizen voters.
**Absentee ballots must be received by the voter’s County Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

Students living on campus have both a mailing address and a residential address. Your mailing address is used to receive mail through the UNCW mailroom, while your residential address identifies the physical location where you live.
